Collection of Information
To provide its users with personalized services and new features that
are relevant to their internet experience, SaluteU collects information from its users via two principal methods:
Registration
First, SaluteU asks interested users to register with the site, providing
such information as their user names, e-mail addresses and zip codes. This
information is used to provide users with personalization options,
such as those that allow users to receive e-mail from other forum users.
Cookies
Second, SaluteU uses "cookies" (bits of data that can be placed
on a users hard drive as a kind of "ID") to track user behavior
and to enable its personalization features. These cookies allow SaluteU to better understand the preferences of its users and thereby
create new services that better attend to these preferences. Cookies also
enhance the quality of the user experience, such as allowing for SaluteU
to remember user IDs and passwords, so that users don't have to type them
every time they return to the site.
Concerned users can reset their browsers to
decline cookies or to provide a notification when a cookie will be placed
on the user's computer.
Use
of Information
When a user registers with SaluteU, the information collected is processed
and stored by SaluteU alone.
Sharing
of Information
At present, SaluteU does not share any of this information with partners,
subsidiaries, or any other third parties.
Users should understand
that SaluteU is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content
of other Web sites.
Choice/Opt-Out
Users who would rather not provide the information asked by SaluteU's
registration process need not register with SaluteU. SaluteU's
post to forum features will be disabled, but viewing will still be available to that
user.
Should
a registered user wish to stop receiving communications/services which they have
previously requested from SaluteU, they can deactivate these by following the
